Eurovia Trial New Technology for Measuring the Spread Rate of Pre-Coated Chippings
HDS are out again with new technology in Hertfordshire with the first demonstration of our new VisIR system for measuring the spread rate of pre-coated chippings on HRA materials. The new, patent-pending, system from HDS is chipper mounted technology that uses thermal imaging to differentiate between the hot HRA and the cold PCCs.
The system is being used to significantly improve the quality of distribution of PCCs, as well as improve health & safety on site by removing technicians from conducting dangerous tray based testing. Chipping operatives are provided with real-time % coverage and conventional kg/m2 readings and clients are provided with geo-referenced quality assurance records to tie into asset management systems.
